Genuinely tasty low fat baking recipes please?
I am looking to subsitute my normal home baking for the family for low fat/cal substitutes – without them really reaslising it if possible! I would normally bake chocolate fudge brownies, choc chip cookies, orange cake, lemon drizzle cake, flap jacks etc; all calorie/fat laden.
I am looking for tried and tested recipes that would appeal to children aswell and also if there are ways of altering my recipes to reduce fat – ie. can I replace some of the butter with something else? same also for sugar etc;

Applesauce Bars
¼ cup margarine
¾ cup packed brown sugar
¾ cup unsweetened applesauce
1 cup all purpose flour or whole wheat flour
¼ cup raisins
½ tsp soda
½ tsp cinnamon
1/8 tsp nutmeg
1/8 tsp cloves
¼ cup chopped nuts
Microwave (high) margarine in glass mixing bowl 30 seconds 20 seconds or until margarine is softened. Blend in brown sugar, beat in applesauce. Stir in flour, soda, cinnamon, nutmeg and cloves. Mix in nuts and raisins. Grease 8 inch square glass baking dish on the bottom only. Spread batter in dish. Microwave (high) uncovered, 8 minutes or until no longer doughy, rotating dish twice. Cool cut into bars. Note: 1 bar provides 120 calories, 4 grams fat and zero cholesterol. Exchange Value: 1 bread and 1 fat.
