How to teach children to draw?
I started a drawing class for kids in my neighborhood, and I have two five-year-olds and a seven-year-old. I’d like to know – What to teach and what not to teach them? What could they learn, and how to teach it to them so that their natural creativity isn’t stifled? And also, if you know of any book or site that can help me out. Thank you!!
possibly use other mediums to assist in drawing, they may get bored, figure out what they want to draw, and let them decide individually, on may want to only doodle, another may want to draw airplanes, and the other to sketch kittens,
being near festive seasons, they could color a pumpkin and cats, or start drawing christmas trees and gifts or ideas,
maybe a gift card for their favorite teacher,
maybe some cutout dolls and model design, to color,
maybe put some random items out in the yard, and have them sit by the window and draw things they see,
they could draw their own name in big letters and colour them in,
they could make origami model and color all the parts,
play a game of I spy, and they have to draw something the colour of…,
have them draw their hand prints, or animal foot prints to cut out,
have them draw the number of their age times that many, five shoes, seven candles, five bunnies,
have them sit in circle and draw the other two or one of,
have fun mostly, :}
