Probiotics question?
I read how well they work for you, and it was highly reccomended by a few people i know to try them out on my son, so i went to the health food store and found a kind made for children, but how do you know when they have had enough of the probiotic? i have a 30 day supply for him, it wasnt cheap, ive read that some people take them everyday, but there has to be a breaking point to where your bowels are back to where they need to be, im sure the time line for everyone is differnt but how do you know when they have had enough? Hes only taken them for like 4 days now and his attitude has totally turned around and hes more regular, his sleeping schedule is totally better, but i dont want to take him off of them untill he shows signs that hes completely turned around ya know…. any sites or suggestions would be awsome

Well, I think you’re doing the right thing already and I’m not sure there’s much I can add.
You’re right, though–I think you reach a point where they’re no longer really useful unless something new upsets the balance. What I did with my son was keep him on them until, like your son, he showed signs of improvement and now I just give him one every few days. I don’t worry too much about sticking to a schedule.
A lot of things can affect your son’s bowel health–medications, diet, etc so you may never see a *permanent* improvement. I’d definately think of putting him back on them (temporarily) if he runs a fever, goes through a “picky eating” stage, etc. (But you’ve probably already thought of that, right?)
