I need help finding some new ideas for children’s activities?
I work for an afterschool program for three hours a day, however, we are to follow a curriculum of sorts involving activities, crafts, science, nutrition etc. The ages range from 1st to 5th graders. I am looking for new ideas or websites that can lead me in the right direction. The program I work for has limited resources and money to provide, so the ideas should not cost too much. We do have some supplies for crafts and games on site, but any ideas would be helpful. This is my first year being in charge of planning the activities, and to be honest I could use some help. So if there is anyone out there who has children or works with children and has knowledge of things they enjoy, please let me know. Thanks in advance.
For the best craft ideas buy a copy of Pack-o-fun magazine. They have dozens of projects in each issue and very clear instructions and photos and they are all aimed at the age group you mentioned. I have found lots of the internet sited don’t have as clear cut instructions and this magazine has been around for so long they are obviousy doing something right. They have a website too which gives you a table of contents of the issue and picture of some of the projects, just no instructions.
